The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro weighs up to 1.2 kilograms with dimensions of 123x180x112mm. It’s quite large, but its capability is more than imagination. The sensor used is of the Super 35 with a resolution of 6144 × 3456 pixels which is quite relative to film-making cameras, almost the same size as APS-C.

Using the Canon EF lens mount system, the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro is compatible with many Canon lenses for great flexibility. Although the sensor is the same, what’s new in this variant is the availability of a built-in ND filter with three levels; 2, 4 & 6 stops.

That way, videographers who take a lot of outdoor footage can be more flexible without the need to take advantage of an external ND. It saves a lot of time while shooting to charge the lenses then ND filters, you just have to click one button.

And the highlight of the product is the new screen in Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, which can be rotated up or down. The dimensions are bigger, up to 5 inches, and have full HD resolution. Supporting HDR, the screen can light up brightly like a flagship smartphone in 2021, reaching a max of 1,500 nits, even if it’s just right for outdoor use.

With a brighter screen, Blackmagic also makes this camera more durable when used. The battery capacity is increased, making the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro last up to 60 minutes of raw 6K / 24p video recording. If this is not enough, there is a new accessory in the form of a battery grip that can accommodate two additional batteries. So, it has a total recording time of up to 3 hours which was also the biggest issue in previous versions.

For professional needs, this camera also has a secondary mini XLR port, so you can record two audio tracks using two direct microphones without the need for an external mixer. Plus, the option to use an additional electronic viewfinder (EVF), which attaches to the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro’s hot-shoe mount.

Price of Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro

Blackmagic sells a Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro for ₹ 2,18,800/- which means USD 3,023. This price is ₹ 43,850/-(USD 606) higher than the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K. So, is that worthy to buy Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, that is a big question?

The answer is if someone already has Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, I don’t think that he need upgrade to Pocket Cinema Camera 6K pro because the specifications are almost the same. But if someone is planning to buy Pocket Cinema Camera 6K than he can go with the 6K Pro version.
